I've finnally decided to move on up to a 4v now and I am about to order a gear for my 97 cobra I am picking up Friday and wanted to know if any other parts were needed to run a 4.30 more safely in my rear end. Appreciate all the help

Nothing that I know of as far as safety, just the usual check of the bearings and replacing the axle seals while it's all apart and friction modifier additive for the oil. Sometimes driveline vibration is more noticable with the lower gears so an aluminum driveshaft comes in handy to smooth it out. Maybe a driveshaft safety hoop wouldn't hurt. Outside of that, you should be good to go.
