4.6 shift point question!! **help**

My car is a 98 model and still has the NPI heads..at what RPM should I be shifting at? Also- what mods would raise or lower that shift pt? I am planning on installing a shift light with a specific pill to shift at..At anything beyond 5,600-5,800 it seems as tho im jus running the hell out of it wi no power gians.

I would say around 5,200 RPM's...that's what most people seem to shift even with the PI heads. Maybe a little lower for non-PI, not sure but...

I shift around 5000-5200 rpm when racing someone but driving around town between 2000-3000. I have a monster tach with shift light and have it set at 5000.

actually, this past weekend my friend and i had my car on the dyno doing some simulated 1/4 mile runs and dynos. we figured that shifting at around 5000-5200 rpm was the best.
