Why is the 4.6 in my 2000 GT specific to that model year? Sorry I cant find the search. Salvage yards have told me I have to use a 2ooo MY engine. I have a 04 on a stand I would like to build and swap out. Here comes the flames if any. Thanks.

It's probably because the 2000 is a Windsor plant engine (vs. a Romeo). If you're swapping the whole motor, I think the only things different are the timing cover and flywheel/flexplate. I can't remember for sure. Do a search and you'll find all the differences between the Windsor and Romeo.
