4 banger to efi 5.0

i think i have decided to get an auto to put in it , since it already had an auto when it was a 4 cylinder, what year aod should i look for, i am going to either put a fully manual valve body, or a manual/automatic valve body in it, later i will put a bigger stall convertor in it, also i think i am gonna put 4.10's in the rearend, the guy already put an 8.8 in it

that's a complete waste of time unless you really enjoy auto's, or are too lazy to shift.

once you've pulled the 4 cylinder **** out, you're literally a pedal assembly, and shifter away from a manual. To each his own I guess.

there is acually a whole lot you have to change.i did my convesion in the back yard and it took three months(nights and weekends) to get it done.be ready to change every wire in the car front and rear suspesion, fuel lines, brake lines, hell i even had to change my windshield wiper motor.

dont be scared by this.. i say it could be done in 3 full days.. took me about week and this was me and 1 other guy who doesnt no the first thing about a car.. its very easy and fun if your up 2 it.. i had a complete donor car, so that helps alot.. i picked it up for 500 bucks.. then all new fluids costed me about 60 bucks then having exhaust welded back up.. project prolly didnt cost more than 700 buck total.. i swapped rear/tranny/motor. didnt do spindles or brakes.. everything it direct bolt on really.. the only fabracation i had to do was using a dremle to cut the parking brake cables..YOU WILL NEED AN AIR COMPRESSOR..alot of bolts are a pain to get out.. but the break loose eventually.. hardest part of the swap to me was just customizing the fuel/break lines.. have fun:nice:
