will a driveshaft from a 5-spd 4-banger (7.5 rear) fit into a 5.0 5-spd (8.8) car? i need one for my friends 91 LX 5.0 and my friend has one out of his 4-banger and if it will fit, it will make life easy. thanks!
Yeah, it should fit, but I wouldn't bother with it. Stock driveshafts suck really bad. Better off getting an aluminum FRPP one from Summit. They're like 150 I think. Plus, the bolt pattern on the rear to the differential may be different, because 5.0s have an 8.8 and 2.3s have a 7" (I think, I know it's smaller) rear.
4 bangers have the 7.5 inch rear end. it's a bad rear end, but everything physically bolts up the same, including the driveshaft.
Fyi, ALL alum driveshaft prices have gone up to $259 now. thank the industrial revolution in China for that one, so basically i would stay far away from an aluminum shaft unless you need it to fix vibration problems.
