4 cyl to fi 5.0 swap

having problems in my conversion, im already installed all components neccesery for 4 to 5.0 swap, my vehicle was previouslly a 4 cyl 5 spd 87 notch back, the only thing that i havent converted from an 89 gt is the underdash harness, will i need to install the 89 underdash harness. i dont have any voltage to my fuel pump or ign coil. any help will be appreciated.

Did you get the harness from a donor 5.0?

I just got mine running today. I have a 89 4cyl coupe and I used a 5.0 from an 87. I had to buy a computer harness for an 89 because I had the same problem as you with the 87 computer harness. You can either change to the 89 gt underdash harness or use an 87 5.0 computer harness.

Swap the dash harness!! 87-88 harnesses are by themselves, as they are Speed Density cars, and the 89 and newer are mass air.

The dash harness has nothing to do with the ECM. The dash harness is the same for pre-air bag cars. I did the swap on an 88 lx. The only harness that I changed was the engine harness. I used an 89 engine harness so I could use mass air. I would start by checking your ignition switch.
