Most Mustang people know about the '79 Pacecar, but few know that there was a Pacecar in '86. It was rumored to have never even existed, some say that it was crushed and some think that Ford has it tucked away, but check this out... http://www.foureyedpride.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=29093&sid=b0793f031797cd2e7fd3f1be4a7dfc5c

Those of you who are members of the forum, it's probably old news, but it's an interesting read.

First think we should do is file for a lost title. Once they've completed research and see that's it's not stolen we'd have a new title issued in our names. Once in hand, we'd show up at the old guys house with a tow tuck and a cop demanding that our property be released.

It's a marvelous plan!

I don't think that is an 86' pace car, the gauges in the dash look like 79-82 style, The hood is the 1979-82 style, and the forum states last inspected in 1986. Just my observation.

In the post, he says it's an 80' pace car. He bought an 86' from the same guy, but the pace car is an 80'.
