4 speed and headers question

I'm still on the 70 Mach I, 351 Cleveland 4 barrel, 4 speed, I don't remember how much 90 weight oil goes in the toploader, I remember it's until it runs out of the hole, I just would like to know how much goes in.

The other question is that I have purchased the hooker headers for a 70 351C, 4 barrel, 4 speed. The right side is on the pitman arm, I hate to put a hammer to them as I did years ago, any suggestions? The linkage is hooking up ok, I am using a blow proof bell housing and it maybe creating a little problems.

Really could use some help

I set mine up with Hedman hedders and a hydraulic throwout bearing. No pitman arm problems but I had to buy the hydraulic throwout bearing to make it work as headmans interfere with the linkage. My linkage was hokey anyway, so I was planning some kind of change anyway.

To keep your Hookers--maybe upgrade the steering to rack and pinion? Not a cheap solution, but a better setup for driveability. That is the direction I am going to go long term.

Doesn't Hooker make/offer a bracket to drop your steering box to solve the clearance problem.

Toploaders hold approx. 2 quarts of gear oil.

The bracket is to drop the slave cylinder lower, not the steering box.

The "cylinder" is clearing ok, linkage is rubbing the header some, nothing a hammer want take care of. I've just never seen the passenger side header NOT clearing the pittman arm, I've never had a 351C 4 speed, just the Windsor motor which is a little smaller. Anyway, I'll check with Hooker headers and see if they have any suggestions, I really hate to put the hammer to the header.

Thanks on the gear oil, I got 1 qt in, guess I need to put another.

Started the motor tonight after 2 years. Still got a ways to go.
