I am trying to help my son with the 84 LX 5 litre he just acquired from his Aunt.

Looking at changing out the 4 lug bolt pattern ( with the funky stock metric mags) to the 5 lug bolt pattern.. Are there some good aftermarket 4 lug wheels available or is changing over to the 5 lug the thing to do??

Is there an easy way to do this??

What years and what cars came with the 5 lug pattern?? Seems as when his aunt bought this car, in 86, some mustangs came with a 5 bolt pattern..

Any help would be appreciated... Thanks

The only 79-93 factory Ford Mustangs that came with 5 lugs are the 84-86 SVO and the '93 Cobra R. The rest were cursed with 4 lugs.

It more than likely has the 10" brakes. If he is planning on upgrading the car, he should upgrade the brakes as well. It would be in his better interest. 10" brakes up front is scary.

SVO's were 5-lug, but they had 11" brakes. You would need to swap to an 87+ spindle to run the 11" brakes.
