I was just about to get some 40 series flowmasters for my rig (not delta flows) and now noticed the super 40's which claim less interior noise but deeper and louder exterior tone and higher hp ratings. anyone have any insight to this??

I like em!!!! :nice: (Supers)

Friend has A Thunder and riding with him neither uof us can tell a difference in interior noise. Both are loud in the cabin. Supers don't have the higher pitch sound of the A Thunders (outside) but are deeper and are also loud! His A Thunders sound great at 2200 rpms but they slightly die down until you get closer to wide open throttle. Supers keep the same tone all the way up the rpm range. Others may say different but this what a friend and I have come up with. :flag:

To me roughly all the Flowmaster 2 chambers sound the same. The American Thunder kit I quess for almost a year use the Super 40 series muffler. If you check the part number on the kit's muffler and the Super 40s they are the same. TruBlu01 ( I think this is the guy ) wrote up a big report on this issue on Mustang Exhaust.

If everyone is so worried about the 40's being so quiet, JUST DON"T BY THEM. Make your stang sound like a dump truck by using straight pipes or packs. :uzi:

I still have a bad a.s hollow/deep/thumping sound coming from my 40's

To me the MAC Flowpaths sound better. They are a little louder than the original 40s. Also the price is a little less than the Flowmaster. I will probably be flamed, a lot people will say that all MAC stuffis crap. I did the Flowmaster thing first and really did not care for it.

Now if you like sounding like a truck get the packs.
yet another uneducated soul! if you don't know what it sounds like then STFU!! I have the 'packs and it sounds nothing like a "truck"! now if you match it with the wron midpipe i.e. MRT O/R H it will(had it on for about 1 hour), but not with the pro chamber or the stock pipe.

BTW, original 40's sound better IMO.

damn, im a part of the stupidest post evar. that sound right? evar...i mean ever...yea that's right. take some grammar classes before you try and bash people, buddy. bad thing is you are from southern indiana. i didn't know it was stupid that i at least want a car that sounds better than an ls1 b/c any lightly modded GT stang would get owned on the tracks. to his his own though...hick

and a 12.895 in the quarter w/ only 4.10's and BFG Dr's...? come on now...what kind of fairy boat are you driving? i figured you would be driving john deer's and bob cats down in the suburbs of southern indiana. i wish my stang could hang w/ new body cobras with less than 1k invested. hopefully i can run 12.5's w/ the mods i just got in the mail...ha ha ha

The history of my car is very well documented on this forum and several others. My car is not a "factory freak" nor do I keep any secrets. Do a search you might be surprised at what you may find. Your statement about mufflers is not only stupid but also shows your general lack of knowledge. If you care to take a little drive south some day I can get you caught up on your education :D We can meet at Beech Bend Raceway, Bowling Green, Ky. If you want to go fast I can and will help.
