the tech part: what valve covers fit comp roller rockers on afr 205 heads?

i don't want to go tall because then the intake doesn't clear, and if i put a spacer to make the intake clear, then the engine probably won't fit under my cobra hood.

now for the pics ...

it is a custom cam, not sure on the specifics. i'll post them when i know them.

they are putting the accessories on this weekend. i should be able to pick it up next week.

i think that edelbrock intake might be a little restrictive for that many cubes.
what if u went with the performer rpm II or maybe even a boxed upper? it looks like those guys know their sh-t. where did u get the 351 block?

i'll definately get it dynoed. but this is a 100% street car, stoplight to stoplight and some highway runs, so i am looking for a low-mid range torque curve.

lol don't remind me. it is at abut $6k just for the motor and i still need to get it installed with a new clutch and tranny. then there is the new leather, and paint, and stereo, ...

i'll still end up shelling out about half of what a 2006 mustang gt convertible would cost, and this thing is going kick the $hit out of most other cars on the road.

my stock covers with the stock original steel gaskets fit with the CC Pro Mag rockers. Should for you also. And I was running the taller Chevy Studs. Looks good btw.

BTW isn't that the wrong timing chain cover? That looks like a pre-93 cover. Whats up with that?

when i called march and was deciding on the accessory brackets, they told me to get an 87-93 one, so i went to summit and ordered one. that is what came ...

i noticed to that it has the fuel pump opening; my builder blocked it off.

i actually asked him about it today while i was looking at it at lunchtime, and he said it would be fine, but he says this one is not as easy to use because it doesn't have the "positive alignment" dowel things so it is harder to align it when installing it. he said that he is not worried about it, and believe me, he would not use it if he wasn't sure it would be ok.

great thanks. i think i'll get stock height polished ones then. imo the stock valve covers are ugly.

Oh ok. I didn't realize you were going to go to the older style brackets. So you getting rid of the a/c and stuff? Just keep Alt? I guess i'm just curious. BTW another issue if you dont set the engine back your going to have clearance problems with the water pump and electric fan (pending your still running the stock style one. BTW I'm guessing I haven't followed your build to closly. But it looks good and will definatly run good.

oh, by the way, the compression is going to be about 10.25:1, i don't remember the exact number.

they don't have a 94/95 bracket set yet, so i asked them what my options were and this is what we came up with.

i am keeping the power steering, and a/c, no smog pump or other emissions stuff. new polished alt and a/c. crappy looking black power steering pump because the saginaw pumps are not available for fords yet

i got a AJE k-member that drops the mounts down 1/2" and also is set up so i can move the engine back an inch. those 2 things together should help keep it under the hood too ...

cool... I can't wait to see how your going to mount the accessories. I could be wrong I was always under the understanding to mount a a/c on the march setup you had to run a pre 93 style a/c compressor.

My wifes car (408 car) I stayed with the stock brackets well the drivers side at least. on the passanger side I'm using the Vortech setup. But her car is 100% custom anyways. Due to the Coil on Plug setup. Her engine is under the stock hood with the RPM intake. This weekend my buddy just bought the RPM2 intake and he's bringing the upper over because my Eddy 351W Lower has extra bolt holes so Im going to see if it will mount to it. If So i'm going to go with that style upper. Since with RPM1 upper I still have 1/2+ clearance.

BTW isn't the AJE k-member a great setup.

lol you can be sure there'll be pics! it is a march compressor and they gave me the part number (MCH-P410 on summit), so it better fit!

george at kooks said they were the only guys he recommends. that was good enough for me. i liked the way they had the option of extra bracing for verts and road cars. i also liked the way they can lower and move the mounts and provide more clearance for larger oil pans.

i hope the headers get in soon ...

did you get that 408 on the road yet? i'm looking forward to hearing more about it.

Engine is running on the stand but thats about it.... I'm still working on the body, suspension. Just cut the floor boards and installed my thru the floor sub frames. Hopefully next week my IRS will be here. Then I'll have to make an Exhaust for that. Then I'll send the car out to get aligned with the car running. Bring it back yank everything back out and paint the ex and int (doing a body color change) then save more money up to order a hood. Wife decided against the stock hood with the complete Saleen Kit she wants the Saleen hood. I'm still looking for 94-98 S351 Seats and wheels and the car will be 98% Saleen minus the vin tag and ID tags. Got everything else.

i saw it again today ... the guy is putting the accessories on. those march brackets are beautiful, but the heads have 7/8" accessory holes and the march brackets are set up for 3/8" he is deciding if he is going to helicoil them or drill out the brackets. i think helicoil is prolly the best route
