Finally got the gears installed. I dropped it off friday, and it was ready to be picked up saturday. Cant beat it, guy does quality work. It was $500 otd with gear and install. Its nice being able to roast the tires at will now Its supposed to be mid 50s sunday for opening day at the track. :Track: Might head out there for some virgin runs Car pulling hard now with the new bassani race muffs, and 410s. Next is springs, control arms, and some et streets/nittos on the stock 17s. Then kooks/AR LTs, ds, and delete plates with new tune...

Won't take it to the track just yet...clutch isn't burned in yet and still want to head over to Straight Line Performance and have them tune it.

Were just waiting on the weather around these parts...hell we had 2 inches of snow last week! There is a Chicagoland Mustang meet coming up on Saturday April 19th and Speedinc.com is hosting their annual open house on Saturday April 26th. We should have some good video and pics by then.

What are your thoughts on a 'break in' period for the new ring and pinion gears? I've been taking it easy on my 4.10:1 gears until 500 miles.

I did the speed up and slow down method, after 500 miles I had the fluid changed. But Ive also heard there are people whos warm up period was leaving tires marks as they left the install shop !

I was told NOT to do burnouts for the first 50 miles, then just drive as I normaly would. No big deal as it was nearly 50 miles from the shop back to the house. The gears have been trouble free and they've been in nearly 30K miles(since last February )!

I didnt take it easy/ nor put 500 miles on my 410s, just a few hot/cold cycles. Id say if it isnt whining yet, youre good. You should know pretty fast if its a botched intall or gear quality

Good deal, thanks for your thoughts. I've got absolutely no whine and all appears to be running well. I'm going to drain and refill the rear end this weekend (should be just over 500 miles by then) just to be safe.
