FINALLY(!!) got the car tuned today. Im a little dissappointed with the torque numbers, but Im thinking it's just because my tires and rims are so heavy since my stock dyno was also down on torque. Overall, Im still very happy with the numbers, but I think it might still have a little power left in it with some more timing.

It made 452HP/476TQ, but had a blip in the run where we think the tires started spinning. This was followed by a 457/497 run with another blip in the curve. We finally got a smooth curve of 449.4HP/463TQ. I think maybe it was getting a little heat soaked by this point, so I think with some time to cool and a little more timing 460/470 is possible.

I have two vids here, right click-save as.

Here's my car with a New Edge S/C'd GT that showed up at the shop

And the dyno graph

Damn nice numbers! From the looks of your graph it looks like it'd like a 6300 or more RPM shift point! That's freaking awesome in my book... a 418 with a >6000rpm shift point!!! If you ever get it dyno'd again I'd have them run it to at least 6500 to see if it really starts to fall off or if it carries out past there.

Thanks guys!
Jesse, I don't think you ever posted your dyno sheet on here...You def need to dig that up!

Eades, C.R. is around 10.5:1. Running it on straight 93 octane.

Paul, I've been kind of afraid to run it that high, but I might have to give it a try. I've had it up to 6200 and it felt like it was still pulling that high. Here I was thinking my 3.73's might be a little too much gear, but now Im thinking they might be just perfect. Especially with the gear ratios in the tko 600 making 1st and 2nd actually usable.

Nik, drivability is a little rough, but not bad. The main problem is there's still some low rpm bucking, like 1500 and below. It's not too bad, but it could get frustrating if you drive in town a lot. With a little more fine tuning, he might have been able to fix it completely, but it's so close now that I can live with it. He spent over 2 1/2 hours messing with the car.

Yeahloh, it could have been a miss. Would that cause a spike on the graph, or a low spot? The wierd thing is it was at the same spot on two runs.

I agree. Looks like theres still useable power past 6200 rpm.

Lets see some 10.50's now :)

Sick numbers! I saw that engine in Jesse's car when I picked up my O/R X, it looked like business.

How's that combo in terms of harmonics? That could be causing the blip.

Adam

I've been fighting with a vibration at 80-90mph with the tko I just installed. It's not that bad now, but still there. We were also thinking that may have caused it since it seemed to be at the same place on the graph both times.

What is the balance on that beast? Larger displacement strokers are notoriously difficult to get a balance on.

Gotta watch out for the main bearings getting undue wear and tear...

Well the story on the dyno sheet is this, funny yet true story - My buddy towed the car to & from the dyno for me in his denali. Two other friends went with us. So we are on the way home, and im drooling over the dyno sheet, i put it on the dashboard for a second, my buddy in the back rips ass and it stunk so bad i had to put the window down, and there went the dyno sheet out the window! lol! Oh man i was so pissed.

So i had the tuner fax a new sheet over, but my fax is black + white only so the torque curve didnt show up cause of whatever color it was.

I found the sheet though with the HP curve, ill scan it wensday and post it up. Your HP curve seems to pull alot further, mine peaks at about 5300 or so rpms. I didnt have a 1 inch spacer on the tfs box, and the cam itself could be the difference there.

When i eventually go back to the tuner for the new car, ill be sure to get another copy of the sheet so we can compare the torque curve.
