428 cobra jet

does anyone know much about this engine specs etc.

I can tell you to look up all the technical info on various websites and books, it's very well documented.

I can also tell you as being an owner of one for many years (69 Mach 1 SCJ DP) that when the motor is set up right (cam, headers, carb, ignition, etc), they 're freight trains that just pull and go!

I can give you the details of how I tuned the car, but cannot rattle off specs of the engine.

But, if you are putting one together, make sure the car and driver are up to the task.

This the long stroke and restrictive exhaust ports, high RPM is a no-no. My motor was a good street engine, kept the 10.6 compression, cleaned up the stock heads, aluminum intake, good headers, and paid ALOT of attention to the carb and ignition.

Put on the best aluminum heads, a good torque cam, and don't spin it over 6000. Starting a hot, high-compression CJ is no picnic.
