I was traded a Jasper 460 for 89 Jeep. I dont realy know much about it other than it's huge. I was just wandering if there is any way for me to put this in a fox? If not I will put it in my F-100. I will put pics of it up later.
It fits easily! Just not much room to work in... You will need new mounts, headers, oil pan, and tranny. Also most likely a new hood, depending on your setup.
exploding gopher has one stuffed under his 4" or 5" cowl induction hood. I went for a ride in my friends 89 GT with a 460 and WOW is all I got to say...
I've seen a 460 stuffed in a '79 fox before. It's a tight fit, but all the parts exist to do it. I bet a 460 fox would scream in a straight line. I'd be careful about those corners though...
Me and a buddy of mine were going to build a 460 fox a couple years ago. Then we both realized we were broke.
These are the only pics I could find of my 460 in a cobra clone I use to own. The engine droped in easy. I had a custom made K member so the motor sat a little high and I ended up cutting a hole in the hood. FMS sells a kit that the motor sits down in the car a little better and you can get away with running a 1 or 3 in cowl. I ran a c6 3 speed in the car. The 460 was fun, never really woke up until about 4k rpms, gobbs of torque and would rip the tires off in a heart beat.
I still can not get the pics on. I have not touched it yet. It is just sitting there next to the stand. I have a 393 I was going to put in, but I might just see about the 460.
