4cyl to v-8 trans pilotbearing?

What is the part number for pilot bearing for mounting a 4 cylinder t-5 to a 302? I read how many people have these trannys in their cars, and they say "special" pilot bearing used, but no one says what kind it is, what car it goes in normally, or a part # or size or anything. Just wondering if anyone knows. It would be perfect if I can toss in the 4 cyl trans into my 302 convertible stang. Any help would be appreciated.

Go to autozone and in motormite the part number 14672 and Timken its 202ff.
Its for a late 80's-mid 90's saab 900s. probably Fits most of those cars though.

oh yeah this is a 4cyl forum is everybody here is using the 4cyl trans...

sorry....anyway.

The don't let the "4cyl trans" fool you. They will take about as much power as the V8 transmissions.

Sorry didn't know who would answer that one the quickest so I posted here. Thanks for the info 351wcoupe. I am not worried about the tranny holding up, I just need to get a tranny in the car. That is strange that the Saab bearing works in a 302. I will go get one tomorrow and check, but it just seems odd that two different car companies would make a interchangable part like that.

well not really. It probably wasn't done on purpose I think it just happened that way.
Ford V8 and saab have the same outer diameter. It just turns out that the saab bearing also has the same inner diameter as the 4cyl trans.

thats a solid bushing though right?
