The roller I just picked up was a original 4 cyl car. Only thing previous owner didn't do was upgrade front brake to the v8 brake still have the 4 cyl brakes up front. What do I need to change and get to get this done

I believe you need front spindles, front dust covers, master cylinder, proportioning valve, calipers, rotors, rear drums and hardware.

Find one at pick-a-part and pull everything.

Rear drums are the same.

The calipers are the same size between the 5.0 and 2.3L in terms of piston diameter, so the MC swap isn't needed, however you will want the 87=93 5.0 booster.

In the wheel wells, spindles, rotors, bearings, calipers, pads, brake lines, and you will need some small washers to use as a spacer when bolting the strut to the spindle.

That's pretty much it. You've just upgraded the brakes from horrible to terrible.

Honestly, if you are going through the trouble of replacing spindles calipers, MC, drums. etc., you might as well swap in a 94-95 5 lug setup unless you are dead set on keeping it 4 lug.

Nope, SSBC.

Lol - and true. If you get braided steel brake lines instead of the rubbers it helps quite a lot for the 5.0.

You can get everything other than the stainless caliper bushings for less than $150.

Hawk pads are about $75, and Russell braided steel brake lines are also $75 from Summit.

I just did this on my 93 hatch. Swapped the spindles, rebuilt the stock V8 calipers and machined the stock V8 rotors I had laying around. I replaced the wheel bearings and even pressed in new ball joints. Wasn't too bad. I bought new struts that came with spacers and I didn't swap the booster because it's still a 4 banger.
