My stang is a stocker aside from a CAI with 73K miles. Is there any difference from the Valvoline, Mobil1, Castrol synthetic Mercon V fluids? None of my local shops stock Redline and I'm not sure it's worth twice the price for my application.

Comments?

Honestly, I always used plain old Merc V with some Lucas Trans additive in my 95 tbird, those trans were HORRIBLE and this combo made it perfect. The brand doenst really matter, depending on the type it may have more additives if its a High Mileage trans fluid, but as long as it says Merc V on it, you should be good to go.

I picked up 11 quarts of Castrol Mercon V. Never used it before. I'm also going to add the Lucas TRans Conditioner to see if it will help with the 45-45 mph shuddering.

I thought about using Amsoil, it works great in my *** truck, just a PIA to get.

hahaha you know what, just about eveyone has said they LOVE my car except its not stick. From experience with my tbird, that again had the same engine/trans set up, all i need is a Performance Automatic Street/Strip Valvebody and i will be golded, my old bird use to bark second and chirp 3rd, i had a number of manual stang and camaro kills with that thing the manual world should not underestimate the power of the 4R70W! lolol

EDIT: OR J-Mod just saw in your Sig man, NICE!!! TCCOA Forums, know all about the J-Mod

I just got a performence valve body from bc-automotive.com and a custom built 3200RPM none locking stall converter from Lenny at ultimateconverter.com. I should have both installed by the end of May. I will be putting Valvoline Mecon V in it.
