4r70w interchangeability?

Anyone know if any 4r70w will work in my 96 gt?


I mean, ford did use them in every auto gt,v6 mustang from 96-04 and in the ford f150 trucks.


Will anyone work or will I need a specific mustang one?

I still have my stock one but I need a replacement.

any 1996-2003 4R70W or 2004 4R75W will bolt in place of your trans right now as per my knowledge. Although I think 98 and before the 4R is a 2 bolt starter which is different - so post 98 you might need a 99+ starter? I'll need confirmation on that

Is there anyway to use the electronic speedo or install the mechanical speedo system on a newer trans?

otherwise im screwed and need to find a 96-98 model 4r70w

yeah mean the speed sensor? Mine was replaced with a new one - so im sure you can put one in a later model - but haven't dealt with that sort of thing.
