In the process of swapping my motor and going to be changing trans fluid as well. I noticed since its been sitting its been hard to shift out of park into drive or vise versa(thinkin about the shift cable?) and has been not going into the right gears ie: I have to put it almost into neutral for it to go into reverse but drive and everything is fine.
Also I've been having to drop it into 1st or 2nd then right up to drive for it to cycle through all the gears otherwise it hangs in 1st gear and just keeps revving up while driving.(shift solenoid?)
And finally I've noticed that the check plug does has fluid dripping out slightly, could this be a torque converter or is there a seal in between?
I'm just trying to figure what I might need/could do to help it for now. I want to do a manual swap but just not in the budget this year.
