Found a pair of 99 Cobra 4v heads with aftermarket cams/valvesprings installed. If I wire to buy these, what would be needed to make my 2v into a DAILY DRIVING 4v? How much labor, etc.
is there four chaing on the crank? cuz if there is then it would need a new crank. find a cobra motor thats blown. get it for cheap and rebuild it. maybe even get a short block and buy those heads you found. then it will be how you want it.
You would need these items to do it correctly
Heads and all valve train
Timing cover for the secondary chains
Intake
T Body
Injectors
Modify the harness
Crank for higher rpms
Pistons(higher cr now)
coolant tube if I recall
A tune
I am sure there might be a few other parts. It would be cost effective to not do this but to get a used engine.
Correct, it would be better to just purchase a Mark VIII motor, upgrade to the tumble port heads and buy a computer and correct flywheel to mate it up to your car

it only uses 2 chains from the crank. the cam will drive the other cam via a short chain at the head. it is an expensive swap. my buddy is doing it now and he is about $2500 in already
