Just looking for everyone opinion. I have a 90 gt aod with a 2400 stall converter with 3.73 gears. It is mostly street driven. The engine has the orginial block with 94k mile and has the following mods:
73mm maf
cobra intake
gt40p (no port or mill work, upgraded valve springs for .550 cam)
gt40p headers
stock cam, cobra 1.7 rockers
dynomax catback
stock injectors and afpr
155gph fuel pump
I was wondering if a camshaft would benefit me? I am considering either the steeda 18 or 19, crane 2031, crower 15511 and tfs 1. I have been looking at these because i will be using my 1.7 roller rockers. I have driven friends cars with the e cam and dont like the loss of torque and this was in 5 speeds. I dont want to spend the money for custom since I dont drive the car much.
Basically what I want is a cam that will increase power from 2000 rpm and not stop pulling around 5000rpm. What kind of increases could I see by switching cams and is it worth it over the stock cam and 1.7 combo?
