What is the difference between the H.0 92 5.0 and the standard 5.0. Are the pistons Hypereutectic or forged?? Also has any one used the Ford racing Production 302 Short Block Engine?? Will this be the same as my 92 H.0 if not whats the difference??
thanks
Pat

Heads and cam that I know of, that's not all, but those are the big two as far as I know- not sure about the pistons- that would depend upon the year. Not sure if any of the non H.O.'s had forged pistons. The production short block isn't Ford Racing, it is the same as your's. Ford Racing does has several variations however- go here for the differences: http://www.fordracingparts.com/crateengine/main.asp

IIRC, the S.O. has 140hp 270lb/ft I'm using the Crown Vic/Grand Marquis/Town Car motor for reference. Truck motors....I have no idea.

very slightly dished cast pistons with NO valve reliefs(any cam over a standard H.O. would be asking for P/V issues)
14lb injectors
E6 heads(86-91)
Upper intake is different(lower is the same as H.O.)
Different firing order/cam
86+ are roller blocks but not neccesarily roller motors.
T/B is much smaller
Speed density
Nylon toothed Timing chain set
Forward rotation waterpump
EGR spacer is tiny and can safely be bored to 62-63mm tops.
Oooo and those lovely cast iron exhaust manifolds.
