But why? The Cobra wouldn't waste the gas, would he? All the old posts in this thread addressed this very thing- junk launched like the space shuttle is still junk, and should be treated accordingly. A proper Mustang is above all that.

The kid with the Mustang is the one who goes out picking the races. He wont race a couple STIs here because they would wipe the floor with him. He runs cars he knows he can beat, and thinks noone knows what he has. There are a lot of faster cars in the area, a KBed Cobra is definately not the be all and end all, not in the least.

There is always someone faster, and the punk with the Cobra is not deserving of it.

I love my fox and wouldn't sell it for anything. I love the looks , the sound , just pretty much everything about it . Are they the best built cars ? No But I still love them. When I drive my mom's '04 GT it's got a nice ride , nicer interior , and has a little quieter cabin . But when I drive my fox I like the harsh ride , the exhaust ressonace in the cabin , and the simple look of the interior . Plus they are still great bang for your buck and fun as anything drive. Long Live The Fox !

I accidentally did a 180 making a turn at 5 mph the first day I got my fox. Ever since then it's been ok though.

+1, did the same thing in mine. Never had an issue after that, even in 12" of snow!

What other car besides the corrvette does everyone compare there car against none other than the mustang. Its set the bench mark in a way.

Sure there are punks with there stock 5.0 out there that give everyone a bad rep because they think there stock 5.0 will wip the **** out of everything.

And last time i checked a 14 sec 1/4 was fast in the honda guy would.

But the main resaon why a lot of poeple hate 5.0s is because they have all had a bad experence. A 5.0 handing them there ass on the street.

Sure there is some fast imports out there and some make the power we are making but they also have a major dent in there pocket doing this. Were as many of us have 400+ hp and little more little less than a few grand under the hood.

5.0L Mustangs get a bad rep, because half the people that own the cars dont respect them. They knew a buddy in high school who had a 5l mustang and it was pretty fast on the back roads. Now all of a sudden they have to have one because it was fast, and they drive like idiots everywhere.

It comes in all forms of imports and domestics, but a good majority of it does come from the 5L crowd as where else can you buy a quick car for a few coins that'll impress your buddies.

Heres the facts...5L Mustangs arent all that great of cars, I love mine, and I wont get rid of it, but as a fact they're all for the most part an aqcuired taste, they dont handle that well, if you buy it used you are guaranteed to replace several things during its lifetime in your hands, etc. etc.

The hard part to differentiate for some of you is to decide which side of the fence you're on. Are you just another retard on the road?

I had a guy ask me about the Mustangs I own (because I have driven nearly every one to work now) and when I mentioned the fox body style, his response was...

Oh, the ones that look like an escort.

This is what a LOT of people think of our cars. They are a 100% aquired taste, it's just good that everyone here aquired it.

although i own a 03 mach, one of my dreams would be to build a TT 5.0. I dont know what it is but theres just something about fox body stangs that i cherish specifically notchbacks. if I could i would get one and build it up. there arent to many around here that are clean and fast. I can only think of 2 off the top of my head. Ones a nitrious fed 347, and the other a blown 306. 2 very fast cars. and one of the things I hear alot when im in my mach is "thats gotta 5.0 right?" although its annoying Its nice to know that theses cars left behind a sort of a legacy.

WTF does that mean? So you're trying to tell me that there's more '04 Cobras on the road than Mach 1s? Yeah...right. I see five Mach 1s to every '03-'04 Cobra I see on the street.

So I guess you must mean that everybody WANTS a '03-'04 Cobra? Gee, I wonder why that is. Maybe it's b/c they're one of the baddest mother ****ers in the Ford family of all time bone stock?

Love to have one.

That means every one and their mother has a Cobra. Don;t believe me, go to Myrtle Beach for Mustang week. Probably close to 800 cars, and there are a TOn more Cobras then Machs, and not only that but there were a lot of Machs for one time and place. I go to local shows, 5 Machs 15-20 Cobras. The local hang outs, 10+ Cobras, 2-3 Machs.

I personally would rather have an 11 second bolt on Mach than a 10 second bolt on Cobra. Not saying you have to agree, giving my opinion on it.

I will never own an 03-04 Cobra, but would LOVE a Mach 1.

Ok....time out time out time out. I think we're comparing apples and oranges here. YES! There are a TON of Cobras on the street. WAY more than the Mach 1s. But I'm not TALKING about the 90s model cobras, or the 2000-02 model. I'm ONLY interested in the '03-'04 Cobra for obvious reasons. Any other Cobra does not interest me whatsoever. I would MUCH rather have a Mach 1 over the hundreds of Cobras you see every day, even here in St. Louis.

However, the '03-'04 is a thing of beauty. I love the SVT supercharger and it's musical whine even at a low rpm. ****, I would part with ANYTHING to own one.

But to each his own I guess.

NO I am talking about 03-04 Cobras, like I said for every 10 of those I see, I see 2-3 Mach 1s. I have been in, driven and done a ton of things with stock to KBed 03-04 Cobras. I stand by what I would rather have... a Mach 1!
