I came across a newer body style cougar...probably 94 or 95.... It says Bostonian Edition on the side. I raised the hood and it was a 5.0 HO motor. It has the elbow like the SN95 cars do on the intake. It has factory headers but that's all the further I observed. I was wondering if anyone knew if this is the same as the mustang motors and if it isn't what's different about it i.e. heads, intake, cam, internals....

I'm no cougar expert but I don't think any of the late model Cougars came with 5 ohs. I've seen a few conversions on 91 - 93s but nothing later than that.

Thunderbirds did - so did the Cougars. Ford's camshaft data sheet notes that the same cam that was in the 93-95 Cobra was phased into the 93 t'bird/cougar because of it's good torque characteristics.

Yeah a buddy of mine had a 93' Cougar with a 5.0 in it...it was actually a fun car just to mess around in...I was going to buy it a couple years ago (when he left to the Navy) for $400 (heck of a deal)...he was just getting rid of everything he had...but I called a few hours to late and my other friend got it

It was definatly going to be my beater...

We would do donuts, burnouts, etc...in it...it was fun...that motor took a beating...

What part of HO roller with Cobra cam don't you understand? Yeah - it's worth keeping. Intake/exhaust/heads can be improved as with any Stang, and most will tell you to lose the Cobra cam - although I like it as good torquey street cam.
