It got a little bit of cleaning right after this. but the red is just chipping off bad, looks like i'll be taking care of this soon...

any idea what the crap between the tb and upper is?

i'll snap some pics soon, but I've started on cleaning mine up. So far I hit it with oven cleaner to start removing all the paint. Right now it's for sure in the worse before it gets better stage, I got most of the paint off but man.. it looks rough, the aluminum got all dark and cruddy looking... I hope it will polish back up. I've never messed with polishing before.

Holy Crap your brake fluid looks like coffee. Glad you are changing that. WTF happened to the EGR spacer . Did someone not use a gasket ? Also, I don't see the orange HEGO ground wire on the friewall by the S&P shakers. Check to see that it is still connected and not laying around back there.

no idea about the spacer. I just got the car a month or so ago. It cleaned right off, i've not pulled it to see anything else.

Not sure what "orange hego ground wire" you're talking about. On the driver's side head there is a metal ground strap going to the firewall.

i'll snap a pic of the engine bay tomorrow, it's much better now. I spent an hour or so cleaning and wiping everything down, everything was just covered in dirt and grease.

The best I can tell with this car, at some point, someone really loved and took care of this car, then someone else got it and just let it go. when I started cleaned things like the ac unit, it had grease but it came off easy, like it's only been a couple years worth, a lot of the ac stuff is new, the ac works and blows cold so it was redone at some point... this car baffles me..

I'm not gonna call this the final product. I'll probably redo it later, maybe when it's warmer so the paint an dry faster. But here she is. The whole thing was stripped, cleaned back up, taped and painted with high temp engine paint, all unwanted painted removed using a razor. I'll be looking for few screws, i'd hate or use the old rusty looking ones, but if I gotta clean them up and paint them I will.

Not sure yet. this turned out better than I thought. I've already started cleaning the engine bay. I'll snap a pic in a few. I figure rome won't be built in a day.

I'll take one with the plate on tomorrow or so. I'm letting it sit for a day so everything is totally dry.

Looks good man! I am wondering why your distributor is advanced so much though... It could just be me, but I haven't seen the wires on the ignition module pulled that far over ever... Just a thought, have you put a timing light on it? I could be wrong cause I never played with a MSD cap, not that it would necessarily make a difference.

I'm gonna try to check the timing at sat. The car runs fine so It can't be that bad, I drove it an hour home the way it is, so it could'nt be that off.
