I have a 98 V6 5 speed and was thinking about putting a 5.0 in it. Has any one ever done this? Would I be able to use the tranny thats in the car now? Any info on this would be a big help. Thanks

Tranny is a T-5, it should hold up well but you'll need some additional parts.

First off you'll need a k-member from a 94-95 V8 Mustang, then you'll need the bellhousing from the 94-95 Mustang to bolt the T-5 tranny up to.

if you get the swap done and working it should be real sweet

But in all reality it will be a lot of work to do properly. Basically every part of the V6 from fueling to cooling and electrics to plumbing will really need changing. G/box and rear may hold for a while but I guess if you want a V8 you want POWER - this will more than likley break most of the V6 only parts with a bit of abuse.

If you want V8 power in your stang, here is my suggestion: Jack up the radiator cap and drive a Mustang GT under it!

Seriously, the cost and hassle of a conversion is not worth it considering how cheap used Mustang GT's are, especially the 94 to 98 GT's.

can be done but the entire drivetrain and rear would need to be swapped. the t-5 in a v6 is too weak even for a stock 302 as is the rear. if it were ever seriously considered a wrecked donor car would be the best thing.
