My 1989 mustang 5.0 has a ticking / tapping noise that's coming from the motor. I had the lifters replaced a month ago . The ticking does increase with my rpm. Here's a video of it

I don't see a video.

The rockers and lifters were both replaced at the same time?
What method was used?
Why were they replaced?

Is the noise from a specific side?

could be a number of things

  • collapsed lifter
  • incorrectly adjusted rockers
  • bent pusrhods.
  • weak springs
  • incorrect pushrod length

without you giving more details we are guessing. Why don't you bring the car back to the shop that did the work?

Had the rockers replaced with stock ones. Still has the tapping noise
Sooo, pull the valve covers off an see if they are loose, maybe they were not adjusted correctly, you could probably reuse your vc gaskets since just done recently.
Got good oil pressure?
Is it a single tap'n or is it like multiple tapping ?
