Yeah the 3.8 Fbodies which were portly ran well. Low 15s and a few bolt ons well into the 14s. Not bad at all! The SCed versions found in a lot of GMs were good as well.
Well as for a guy who currently owns a 1992 z28 with the 350 tpi and a 1989 lx 5.0 I think I could give some good insight on this arguement. To start with a little background I have owned an 89 gt,93 notch 5.0. 88 Gt and the current 89 lx all 5 speeds over the last 16 years and I hav owned my 92 z28 for the last 14 years and it only has 39k miles.
As far as price the window sticker on my 93 notch was 16k the 92 z28 listed for 23k. So the mustang is a far better deal.
As for handling, sorry guys the wider lower camaro just kicks the mustang arse!
The mustang hands down wins the fun factor and off the line acceleration but dont mess with a 350 f body on a rolling start because they just want to go.
The one thing I love best about the mustang is the cheapness of aftermarket parts, and ease to work on.
GM makes good engines, but the cars around them dont do much for me. I like the 60's-70's GM's, I could go for a 94 Impala or a C6 Z06 or ZR1, but the later models are dull to me.
