Ok, just had a wild idea. Probably all it's ever going to be. Just wondering, what it takes to put a 5.4 in my 03 cobra?
what parts can I use off my 4.6? Not going the supercharged route, if I did this swap it would be at the same time as my TT install.

Like I said, it's just a wild idea which will probably never be more than an idea. Just wondering what it takes to do it. If it's not too complicated, I may consider it.

Thanks

Well, Looks like I was right... Too much work for me!!! Think I'll just buy a stroker short block for somewhere like Modular Performance or somewhere like that.

However, my idea of the TT 5.4 would be a bad mother if someone had the means to put one together. The guy in the link you's gave me had a lot of problems with the intake, but I think I saw somewhere a place that sells adapter plates to use a 4.6 intake on them now.

I'll do a little more research, but it looks like it's just a dream for now.

Thanks anyway.

it's not as hard as everyone thinks. i did it 2 yrs ago and all i needed was adapters for my intake to fit the 5.4. here is a basic page on it as i build a new motor: http://www.illwillinc.com/97mustang.htm

I know absolutely nothing about these modular motors, so a few of these questions may seem a little stupid. Will my 4.6 heads fit a 5.4 short block? How much did the intake adapter plates cost? What front cover and oil pan will I need? I'm going to install a twin turbo kit soon, and thought if I was ever going to put a 5.4 in it, that this would be the time to do it. Any other info you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
