My engine is completely disassembled, and I am considering putting a 5.4l engine in my car. I have the saleen series II Blower, and I was wondering if any of you knew about the durability of the lincoln navigator or ford expedition block. Does anyone know what kind of power you can put through the block without breaking anything. Eventually I am going to be building the 5.4 block and putting a twin turbo kit on built by K-Modified Racing. I just wanted to know if anyone knew if the Navigator block can hold the 380hp I will be putting through it with the Blower I have now. Thanks.

Go to Modulardepot.com and they have swaps and all the 5.4 stuff that you need. It is a really good tech stuff. Not to many people on stangnet have crazy custom work done to there car.

I say go with a DOHC 4.6L setup. You'll get plenty of hp from revving higher. I've read alot of problems with the stroke being so long that all kinds of problems occur when trying to rev past even 6500 rpms. I remember the guy on corral boss whatever he was making a big deal about how wonderful the swap was and how easy. There were ALOT of things that normal people would not be able to easily handle that he took care of in the swap. Moreover, there were TONS of things that went wrong after he got the engine running. He spent probably 20k+ on the project and finally got some massive n/a power out of it. I say supercharger and build up a DOHC 4.6L. Best option in my opinion.

Actually they had plenty of info where you were talking about also. The purplemustang guy that is doing a 5.4LDOHC swap that posts on here sometimes also posted on a big thread on that board as well.

here you go

J.R. Granetelli ran a stock 5.4 navi motor over 1000hp with only minor work to the heads.
so 380 would be light duty.

Thanks for the replies guys. I want to stay with the 2v and fully work the head. I am doing aggressive cams (not sure which ones yet) and a full port and polish of the heads. K-Modified Racing is doing all of the work, and are manufacturing a custom twin turbo kit that is going to soon be for sale. I just want to know if the 5.4L will hold up to the power that I have now. Thanks again for the replies so far though.
