Pro5.0 vs. Triax?

While I don't have experience with that kind of horsepower, I would think at that level the tune would have the most impact.

Shooting from the hip though I'd guess the 4V DOHC 330 would be better.

Everyone needs to stop using liters. Cubic inches is where its!

I don't think we are going in the right direction (as a society) to continue using CID, instead of Liter Dispacement as our standard. (Damn Europeans!)

My vote (why didn't we get to vote on this????) would be for the 5.4l based combo. You have to compare apples to apples or oranges to oranges, though. There was never a supercharged version of the 351w, so the rods (and other things) that came from the factory would not be considered equivalent to the SC 5.4l. These two engine were built during "different times" and therefore have different intended uses.

In the same state of tune, the same design intentions and the same hp level, the 5.4 based combo just barely eeks out the 351w. The reason...fewer moving parts (not to mention 30 + years of engineering). Overhead cams. Lighter valvetrain=less chance of floating valves. Although there are ways that the 351w could easily do this, it would be >slightly< simpler to have the benefit of the extra engineering, in the 5.4. Plus, there are already guys out there making 800hp with stock block Cobra's and Lightnings.

Reddy351 I didnt mean a stock one. If i do a 351 ill stroke it to 427 or 428 with a dart block. I wouldnt have a stock block on either i reckon tho. Cuz if i can get 800 with twin turbo i would probly shoot for more like 1300hp with bigger turbos and more boost. So which engine would be more smooth do you guys believe.

this sounds like a huge goal but if you can pull it off i think it would be great and would love to see pics when completed....i dont know much about the 5.4l platform but a friend had one in his f150 and i though it was very weak...i dont know what strokers are made for it or what not but they have a charged one in the newer stangs so it must be capiable of hp i think with technology probley the 5.4l platform would work better

reddy your forgeting about the saleens. the S351s had 351w vortech supercharged.

i would just buy a 03 cobra and slap on a massive turbo and call it a day. you see the newest 5.0 mustang magazine? they have the King of the Street article this month. your goals seem closely aligned with most of their power levels.

There's a guy with twin turbo 5.4L in a street driven Ford GT putting up over 1000 RWHP. I forget the guy's name but you could search it out on streetfire.net.

What the hell kinda money are you going to throw at this thing?

That would be Joe's GT

My choice...DOHC 5.4 TT for a smoother more streetable ride. If you want insane power go with a TT 427. 1000+ HP should be easy with the right setup, but I don't know how streetable it will be.

Yeah joe lives in my town it looks so nice in person he opens the trunk/hood at the street races. But basically hes the only reason i was thinking about the 5.4 cuz i really would like around 1300 hp by the time im 35 yrs old im 19 now so itll be possible plus i go to school bein a grease monkey. But the v10 idea sounds real sweet.

I'm sure you've also seen the new 5.0. They slapped the Kenne Bell on the Shelby and got 798 at the wheels..oof.

Yeah the new 5.0 helped with the 5.4. And even if i have a new car it will still need an engine.
