I was there a couple of months ago, and I was disappointed to find the bare remnants of two foxes.

Today, a white 89 lx notch with my porno red interior, and a hatch with red as well, and three others. I don't need any major parts, but what a bonanza. I was like a kid in a candy store.

Little stuff, an instrument lamps dimmer, nice interior rearview, carpet for the trunk (had nothing in mine), glove box light/switch (mine was missing), jack w/handle, those little plastic covers over the rear seat supports (had none), much nicer clutch/brake rubber pedal covers (my clutch pedal pad was gone), power window switch (now I have a spare), and an immaculate left front marker lens (mine was nasty, all cracked and yellowed).

All that for $18.50.

I may have to go back.

I guess foxes aren't that popular here. I've seen them, but not too many.

There are lots of small pieces of mine missing. I'm guessing the missing parts were going to someone else's project, so I'm putting it back together a little at a time.

Score man. Probably all 4 holers

Did they by any chance have an AOD shifter with the chrome button on it? I miss that. My 88 4 cyl. had it. Looks way better than the plain black button on my 92.

You know, there is a guy about 75 miles from where I live and he always parts out Mustags on Craiglist and he does it right in his garage or driveway. Most of them are Fox chasis cars and ocasionally he'll have an SN-95. I have seen him part out quite a few notches and it makes my heart bleed to see that after he's done with them, he sends them to the scrap yard where their demise is met.

I have no idea where he gets so many cars from, but just pisses me off that certain cars end up in a form of a cube. And that's just his part time job. He has a regular 9-5 or whatever

Hey, someone nearby, from OS!

It's the Barry's off Canal, right off I10.

That place really moves the parts and cars. When I was there, they were steadily moving out the picked over ones and making space for "new" cars. They're really cool about stuff you get. I had a tool tray with basic hand tools, and it was also full of other tidbits, like 20+ light bulbs, screws, etc. I set it up there and he looked thru it all and didn't charge me for little stuff like that.

So I just hit the junkyard today. Been awhile since I have been there. Man, I spent 2 hours there looking around for a friggin MAF sensor. There were absolutely NO Fox Mustangs at all. What a royal bummer. There wern't a ton of Fords either. In fact, there were more chevys GM's & Dodge crap than anything. There were about 5 SN95's in there. Pretty beat up. None of them had engines in them. So I looked through the Exploders , Taurus's and other misc Ford/Mercury etc. I found a few MAF sensors, one was bad. The others they wouldn't part with because they said they wont be able to start the engines and sell them without a MAF sensor. BS. It was mostly the Crown Vics and Explorers. So I scratched the MAF sensor... for now. I'm not sure which ones would work in a 5.0. The Lincolns and Contours had a weird 6 pin/4 wire MAF connector. There was also one Taurus SHO V8. Had dual electric fans.

I didn't leave empty handed though. Got a dual fan setup + harness from a Contour. Cost me $60.

Damn it was hot out there today. ... roasted my ass off.

There were a few SN95s here too, and yeah it's gettin' warm out.

This yard I go to is a pretty good operation. If the motor's good, they yank it before it hits the main area where the public can go and just tear into them. They drain all the fluids and freon, take out the battery, remove the wheels (if they're good and a matched set) and set them on bare rims so you can get under them to remove an axle or a front suspension. I also noticed they remove the jacks from the trunks. I played hell finding one. I have no idea why they do that, other than to keep idiots from using them out there.

They sell the good motors, trannys and wheels they pull somewhere else, not sure, maybe right next door. I've never needed to do that.

I do get irritated when I see someone tear apart something to get to something else, like tear apart a perfectly good door panel to get to the innards. But that's the nature of the beast I guess. The prices can't be beat. And I also get a little wound up when some fool walks up and asks to borrow tools. Who goes to a junkyard without tools?

The one I went to used to be that way. Now they don't like peope taking parts off of many engines, or they can't sell them. Well I don't need a whole engine. What if I wanted an Exploder intake? I guess I'm gonna have to hunt somewhere else. Theres a U-pull place just down the road a little that they just built a year ago. I'll be checking that one out soon. Ony reason I didn't go there yesterday , I wanted to avoid the mess of traffic. Dumb construction always going on around here.
