Hey guys, I ran it to some problems with my 5 lug conversion. Two of the dust shield bolts broke off in the caliper bracket on the passenger side and 1 broke off on the driver side. Should I drill it out and tap it for a bigger bolt or just forget about the dust shields all together?

Also, how do you remove the ebrake cables from the drum brake?

Nothing ever seems to go smoothly. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

use and easy out for the broken bolts.

The bbale sare held in with a spring clip that needs to be pressed all around the cable at the backing plate. Since you are getting rd of them just cut the clips off. Thats what I did when I converted my 82 Capri..

My dust shields were trashed, so I removed them.

The Dust Shields should have "3" 1/4" Rivets holding it to the Spindles, replacements can be bought at the Ford Dealer for a pretty cheap price.
