My 89 has the smaller front wheel wells...

If I go 5 lug, Im thinking 17" rims. Id like 17x8 front and 17x9 rear.

Most 17's are 9's plus now.
I understand wheels dimension trumps rim but the extra width does come into play...

Seems like I see allot of 245/45 front and 275/40 or 315/35 rear

What backspacing do I need to clear GT/V6 or Cobra calipers?

What rim size do I need to get to ensure no fender wheel rub ?

I like the 03 Cobras and of course the Saleen SC
Wheel replicas has the 03 Cobras down to an 8" and SC's to a 9

EDIT: oh ya, 94/95 spindle stock location and fox length axle

Ride height plays a role too.

Up front on my '88, I'm running 17x8 wheels with 235/45/17's. Using Mach 1 springs which is slightly lower than stock (not much though) and no rub at all. I could prob run 245/45/17

What I decided on (I think) are some oem 03 cobra's, currently on a fox, and no rash, etc running 245/45/17 and 275/40/17. .05 and .03 bigger diameter and .79 and 1.97 inches wider looked at 2 foxes with same setup and pretty sure they'll be ok...due to backspacing and MM Aarms etc. Probably lose quads...
Going to roll the rear fender before paint. going to run coilovers up front so it should all fit. checking them out in person later this week..

Anyone see any issues?

245 look stretched to me on a 9" wheel, IMHO a 255 fits the 9" wheel a lot better.

Ughh, I think Im going to pass on the oem 03 cobras.... the rubber is kinda shot... for the price I could get Something else maybe....

My eibach rears make the car 26" at the lip, if I go 9" fronts Ill have to raise the car front,
Im afraid the front will be equal to or higher than rear.... I want to keep my raked look....

Where can I find 17/8 and 17/9 staggered wheels in 5 lug? Preferrably cobra or SC styling or similar...

Anyone used AFS Wheels outta CA?
They show 03 cobras in 17/8&9 in chrome but they're almost 1000 for the rims...

I run a 255 on my front 9 inch wheels and they do rub when turning lock to lock. I currently have 275's in the back but they look rather smallish. I have a 91 so the wheel openings have no issues. I will load some pics when I get a chance

Cool, doesn't the 91 have the larger wheel wells? That's my quandary, 89 has the smaller well.. from what I can determine its both height of opening and the lip circumference towards the front bumper is significantly larger opening on the newer foxes.
