Aren't the pilot bearings differant sized? Why YES THEY ARE!!

Be sure to use the correct bearing.
I just did the reverse of what you are doing. Putting in a T/C trans in to a GT.
I had to use a pilot bushing from a small block Chevy to make the swap.

Use a bellhousing from a 87-88 Turbo coupe. Those years used a hydraulic clutch, if I remember correctly you will also need the hose that goes from the clutch master to slave from the TC. The shifter is in a different spot as well, and you need to cut a hole in the trans tunnel. oh, and if you have never bled a hydraulic clutch be prepared for some frustration.

The driveshaft won't bolt up, I remember this guy searching high and low for a replacement shaft for his ranger then he gave up and got his fixed.

oh if the T5 isn't the transmission used in the Ranger then I think the shaft is the least of your concerns

I had a 93 Ranger with the M5OD trans and swapped to a T5. The drive shaft fit fine. my worst problem was getting the hydraulic clutch bled. Another difference is the clutch disc, you need a mustang 2.3 clutch disc(Ranger 23 spline-Mustang 10 spline) . If you use the flywheel from the TC, then you can use the clutch from the TC(the TC clutch is bigger than the stock Ranger.)

Someone just posted a pic of a T5 Ranger on TF the other day, the shifter ends up sitting right between the seats (new hole in the tranny tunnel, obviously). Looks badass, actually.

talk to CruzNlife1 on turboford. He just swapped a t5 into a ranger and could probably tell you what needs to be done.
