whats the best swap to do. i wanna do the whole shiftable auto route. never really thought about auto till now since ive decided to go turbo soon on my 94 nitrous sniffing 347 stroker.
The best way is to find someone who wants a 5 speed, and swap out everything at once. There are a lot more people looking to go from auto to 5 speed than the other way around.
I'm not an auto expert, but the aode is fine if it's set up right. The new transmissions are dependent on the computer's ECM to control them. B&M and other companies make stand alone computers to operate the transmission independent of the car's factory ECM, however, I don't think it's worth the money and effort converting it all to work. A good AODE will work fine and cost less.
