6 or 8 bolt

I just pulled the motor out of my 99 gt of which i just spun a bearing at 53k... but neways i though the gts came with a 6 bolt crank, and i most deff. took off 8 bolts to get the flywheel off. I did buy the car with 30k miles on it, so did the previous owner mess with this or did some of them come with an 8 bolt... i got it from an auction so i didnt know the previous owner.

'99 & '00 came with the Windsor motor which had an 8 bolt crank. When Ford moved production back to the Romeo plant they went back to the 6 bolt crank.
