I am having a huge brain fart right now. An 04 GT with a 5spd T3650 would have 6 or 8 bolts?

Not a Cobra crank. So, 6 bolt.

You might want to stop taking advice from that guy at work. The amount of bolts in the crank have nothing to do with the clutch.

Well, he's right!

Besides, have you've never heard of anyone doing an engine swap before? A PI short block comes from many different Ford vehicles my friend. Its a useful bit of information for someone who doesn't know any better?

A truck engine into an 04 GT just doesn't make sense. Maybe a 94 V6.

Makes plenty of sense if you pop the bottom end and need a quick, cheap replacement.

Why wouldn't it? Where do you think the long block for the'99-00 GT's came from!

Great for the early '96-'98 guys looking to swap out their tired old NPI engine on a budget. All they need to do otherwise is score themself a PI intake and they're golden.

Besides.....Truck parts have been going into Mustangs since the late-80's. Ford scored the block and heads for the '87-'95 HO engines in the Mustang's, T-Birds, Cougars and Mark VII's all from the F150.

i was showing him the clutch kit. sorry i forget that one word.

no, i dont take advice from this a$$ clown normally. like i said, for some reason i had a long day. lol.

as far as advice in my shop, i usually give the advice on the domestics and trucks and we have one super bad a$$ mechanic that i learn something new from everyday. plus, hes a pretty cool guy and nut in my book. he has a street legal hyabusa that runs 8.50's to 8.70's all motor all day. no thanks...ill take 4 wheels and some chrome moly tubing.

as far as truck parts for stangs...i dont know how many explorers i have picked clean for other stangs. lol

The Windsor plant is the main plant for all ford truck engines. In 98 the Romeo plant had a pretty bad fire and was unable to continue production untill the end of 99 and the windsor plant had to pick up the slack. So technically all 99-01.5 mustang engines are truck engines.

Anyway the 4.6 is more of a truck engine then a performance engine.

Yep and that truck engine was enough to get my 2000 GT into the 11's on muscle.
