65 Convertible Pump Mount

I am doing a manual to power top modification on my 65 Mustang. NPD sent all of the parts in just a couple of days. All the parts except one.

I cannot find the convertible pump mount. This is the bracket that connects to pump to the metal behind the seat. I have tried all of parts shops that I know of (7).

1. Does anybody know where I can buy this mount?
2. Does anybody have a picture so that I can make one.

I've been a member for awhile and really enjoy and learn from this site.
Any help would be appreciated.

Somebody must have a picture or at least a description of this darned bracket. I've looked in the factory manual and the parts manual. The closest thing I can find is in the exploded view in NPD's catalog.

IIRC, the bracket is part of all CV Mustangs. If nobody comes up with a photo by Monday, I'll snap one myself.

Better late than never. I always thought all Mustangs, whether they had a power top or not, had the bracket. The guys at the shop where I snapped this photo though so too, and they've been doing Mustangs over 30 years.

I'm assuming that the 2 studs on the front of the bracket go through a donut washer fitted to the front "legs" of the pump.

I would guess that the 2 rear "legs" of the pump have a pointy rubber insert sits in the rear 2 holes of the bracket.


If the guy at the shop has a spare, I'd sure like to buy it.

That's the odd part. They've never seen a convertible without one. I'll ask.

I suspect the bracket from any Mustang will do.

Does anybody have a Convertible pump bracket they want to sell, or know where I might find one? I've googled for one and checked the parts companies. Nada

With all the work that I've done on this car, I've never had problems finding a part. Funny how the simple things can get in the way LOL

Try Glazier Nolan, they sell new and used parts, maybe they've parted a convertible recently. I've never seen a convertible without the bracket, your car must be a fluke- lucky you.

Yeah, I live within easy driving distance. They have a free car show every summer (free food, too) and last year there were 206 cars.

That's really cool. Sounds like he's got a going, and fun, business there.

Due to other commitments, I don't have access to shows so that I can find a car to use as a reference car. I live in an area with lots of classic (and older) cars, so i'll track one down and look at the fine details. LOL

Appreciate the picture.
