I’m restoring my 65 Mustang coupe which I acquired over a year ago. It’s bare bones and I’m wondering about the interior lighting. I’m not sure but I don’t think it originally had a dome light. The only lights I’m sure about are the under dash lights. Hoping someone can help me out. Thanks in advance.

My 65 has only the under dash lights and a light for the glove box but I have seen kits that you can get for a dome light, door sill, rear panel and trunk as well

I've added a 67 dome light to a 65 coupe before
Over head console is another option

Are you saying you installed it in the middle of the ceiling through the headliner?

Yes, as part of a new headliner install with front and rear windows still in
PITA but doable and just plugged it into existing under dash light harness
Added trunk and under hood light options at same time to my 65 coupe
No mercury switch though, too many hills around here.

Stock lamps are incandescent. If you want a significant improvement in underdash lighting, I found these to work great:

My '65 is bare bones with lighting under the dash only.
