65 gas pedal/c4 question

65 stang c4 auto. is there also a cable along with the rod that connects to the shifter? or just the rod itself? or is there a spring in there somewere? thanks.

No cable.

There is a throttle-activated kickdown, but it is entirely separate from the shift mechanism.

anyone have pics of this gem? also, what does the gas pedal attach to the firewall with? a through bolt and nut or large self tapper? My car didn't have one. So I'm not sure. Thanks.
