Hey guys, been reading for a while but first post.
I need some header advice. Have a 65 coupe original I6. Rebuilding a 289 with all the extra drivetrain goodies to boot. Which headers will bolt up without any modification? I've seen so many conflicting stories and was wondering who has done this with no problem. I'm running a 289, 302 heads, c4, manual steering and DO NOT want to "massage" the shock towers. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Not sure what you are asking, anything marked for a 65 mustang will work?

Massaging the shock towers comes from turbo setups, some 9.5 deck height stuff and of course the 385 series motors. FEs for the 65 too . . .

tri-ys are the easiest and cheapest option and the fit is usually pretty good. you just have to watch the quality of the ones you get because there are a zillion places that make them. I'm on my 3rd set. (the first 2 sets were cracked from motor mounts ripping in half). what ever headers you get you should get ceramic coated.

+1 on ceramic coated tri-ys. I just got some this winter for my 66 289 and I love em! I had some trouble with fitment because of saggy shock towers though.
