I have a 65 mustang with a 85 302 with an AOD transmission. I need to know how can i tell with the starter installed can i check for the teeth meshing with the flexplate teeth to see if i need more or less shims in it?? Also how would i wire it with the stock starter selnoid?? Thanks
if its an aftermarket starter with 3 wires you have to get rid of your solenoid as its on the starter, you should have wiring instructions with the starter........basically you will wire direct from the pos cable and you have to extend your other small wires on the old solenoid down to the starter.
Why did you do a mini starter? The stock 5.0 mustang starter works great on an AOD swap, I have one on my 67 with 351w(soon to be 408) and clears headers nice.....
