So my 65 mustang rear wheel came off, then the drum exploded and I skidded down the road on my drivers side backing plate and destroyed it. I have looked everywhere I can find and no luck. 5 lug rear backing plate. Anyone that has any idea where I can buy one please let me know! Thank you

Thanks for the reply. It is an 8”. After looking the www over I found Scott drake didn’t reproduce this part. So whatever is out there is it! I got super lucky and a friend had the complete set he gave me!! So I should be good to go now. Thanks again!!

consider a big drum brake upgrade for the rear;

F9DrumKit-Ford 9 Inch Drum brake kit

www.quickperformance.com

they have conversions for the small bearing 9" that also fit the 8" rear end as well, since they use the same housing ends. parts are easy to get as well since they are, iirc, later model F150 rear drum brakes, 11" diameter with shoes 2 1/4" wide.

Hey thanks for the info! I ended up going with a 10x2 drum with 2” shoes. I hope to convert to a double master cylinder with a brake booster. Cheap way to drastically improve the brakes!!

Cant beat free. A dual pot master cylinder is a great upgrade and you should be able to buy one at your local parts store
