I just bought a replacement starter from Schucks (Kragen/Checkers) and I bought a wall mounted solenoid and the cable from the solenoid to the starter is new, the cables from battery to solenoid and chassis ground are also newish...the battery is dead...
When I try to start her up, I get a click and then something that sounds like a wrrr...the motor spins by hand, the starter is totally engaged to the bell-housing...
I pulled up another car and tried both to jump it using the posi to posi and the neg to a good ground and then the neg to the neg...still same result...I then removed the battery and then connected the positive and negative cables to the posi and neg studs on the other cars battery...still same result...
I am in the process of removing every ground and brushing it until I see shiny metal underneath everything that connects...after that I can only see going to get another starter and or a solenoid...
My question is...is there something that is so blatenly(sp) obvious that I am not seeing? Is there any Stang guys near Bremerton (Seabeck) that could come out and see what is wrong and then smack me on the back of my head?
Thanks in advance...
