did you get the old SN type kit or the new one? I recently got a SN2000 kit,all you do is change floats in the carb,re-jet a few sizes up,a little less timing, and some fuel system changes and your good.

Im new to posting but I have been lurking and reading for the past few days. I decided to make an account and post a message here directed at iskwezm: Did you buy the motor stroked to 347 or did you do it yourself and if you did it where did you get the parts to stroke it? did you use any forged parts? whats your compression?

Sorry if I jaked your thread but Im kinda new to all the engine mods and I need a little help here and there

I have a 289 right now and I dunno if I wanna keep the 289 and stroke it up and supercharge it down the road or buy a 351 and go pure cubes or mabe supercharge the 351.

65'pony, that's what pm's are for. Click on his name and it will bring up a menu for it.
It is not extremley difficult, but getting the correct parts can be a bit tricky. Your fuel pressure must now be bumped up as well. It must now be 5-7 psi higher than the boost you plan to run. You can bump the jets up a few, but isn't exactly the correct way to do it. It needs solid floats, the choke horn milled if you use a bonnet, and the choke slot in the main body filled. A manual pump will work, and electric is a little mork difficult and time consuming to setup. It is more difficult to tune than a N/A motor.

I had a 289 that went bad after 15 years,I bought a short block from FPS and used my Edel. RPM heads. The CR is 9:1.I used a forged bottom end,and im running 8-10 psi but i got "flamed" on for using forged parts(not worth it) and that my block is gonna split.

Blow thru

Here's some general info since I don't know your specifics. Dual plane manifolds don't work well - single plane only. Run spark plugs 2 heat ranges cooler than stock. On the carb - Mechanical secondaries only, Nitrophyl floats, mill the air horn. Decrease timing - 28 degrees total max. (lower if you are running more than 9 - 9.25 compression). If you are looking to get the max performance out of your set-up, a BTM will allow you to run more initial timing and decrease your total as boost kicks in.
