66 strut rods

I am rebuilding the front end on my 66, and everything was so crusted with gunk that I didn't see the mark on the top of the strut rod where it bolts to the LCA. it looks like a spear or arrow..does the "arrow" mark go on the top of the strut rod or the bottom? there is a difference in the angle there, I want to get it right.
