Hi guys, This weekend I am planning on taking my doors off my 67, to paint the jams, and also the insides of the doors. Since I am replacing all of the felt and weatherstripping, the only way to do it right is to remove the windwing and windows from the doors. Can anyone offer up the best and easiest procedure . Do I remove the glass from the regulator, or can it all come out at once etc?

You need to seperate the glass from the regulator. Pull the fuzzies and seals out of the top of the door first, they just pull out with the window down. Then pull the rear cover out of the back/top of the door. I rolled the window down and removed the vent window assembly first, it gives you a ton more room. You need to roll the window partway up to access the screws holding the window to the regulator. It's all pretty simple, but can be frustrating, just take your time and take lots of pictures, especially of the vent window adjustment, since when you put it back together, it may need some fiddling.

No problem. Just take your time and don't force anything. The vent window assembly doubles as the front track for the window, so if you just loosen it, you'll have more wiggle room. It took me about three hours to do my first door, and about 20 minutes to do the other side. You really pick up some tricks along the way.

do I need to remove the studs that are attached to the lower part of the windwnig?

I dont know if explained that correctly. I had removed all of the nuts, i think 3 of them, and also 1 bolt. The studs that the nuts came off of are attached to the bottom of the windwing assembly. Do I take pliers and try to turn them out, or are they pressed in. There is no place to grab it with, except for the large round washer which is attached to the stud.

Mine had a hex-shaped end so you should be able to use an allen wrench inserted into the end to remove them.
