Good Afternoon , I just purchased a 67 coupe. orginally 6cyl but now has a 302 and think not sure how to tell. what year or if it's a 289. and I been reading around and cant seem to find an answer. I want to convert from drum to disk brakes , I have a few pick and pulls around me but not sure which cars will bolt on . I read that a granada 77-79 will .but is there anymore cars? rumor is aerostar/ rangers/ explorers/ and 79+ mustangs front disk will work? does anyone know of this is true ?
also I picked up a t5 from a 98 V6 mustang. anyone know what kind of mods or flywheel / clucht il need. and I've heard I can get the read end out of a 95-99 explorer is this true as well?

look for a casting code on block by starter.
c5ae thru c7ae are probable 289, c8 and on is 302

not sure which newer rear or seat is a 'bolt' in

As for the trans, you need a Fox body T5. The trans from '94 and newer is too long, the other's bolt up, using your old starter and driveshaft. You will need to re-balance the late model flywheel. For discs, I recommend Scarebird's conversion kit. It uses '68-ish discs, GM pickup calipers, a Maverick master and bolts right on. As for the rear, the 8.8's out of the Explorer or Fox body or whatever are too wide and force you to use later model wheels with no offset. Lots of people use them, I think they look terrible. Your opinion is the only one that matters since it's your car. They're strong and cheap, but so's moonshine whiskey, and I don't use that either. Seats are cheap, but get ones meant for early Mustangs.

Make sure you have a 28oz imbalance flywheel and a 10 spline clutch disc.
Fox body seats fit but require you to cut the tracks down other wise they set too high in the car.
